See effort, not location
Your partner sees your progress, distance and pace. Never your route, your map, or where you are. Those stay on your phone.
It is easier when someone is waiting
Pick a time. MovePact finds a real person to start with you at that exact moment. Now someone is counting on you: skipping means standing them up, and that is why you actually go. Live progress, short texts, photos and voice notes carry you to the finish.
How it works
Setting up takes seconds: walk or run, a length in minutes or a distance to chase, and a start time on the hour or half hour. Each person moves toward their own goal, and being faster never wins it. The win is following through.
Made for the session
The live screen keeps you together without turning a walk into a phone call or another social feed. No map while you move: your route waits for you at the finish, on your phone only.
Your partner sees your progress, distance and pace. Never your route, your map, or where you are. Those stay on your phone.
Hold to record a short note, or send a photo. Nothing is captured between notes, and photos and audio are deleted within 24 hours.
Quick signals handle real life, before the start and during it. Quit by accident and you have 90 seconds to take it back. If one phone loses signal, the other session keeps going.
In the next update
Sessions stay one on one. Move with someone, add each other as friends, and from then on you can book each other directly or build a squad together.
Finish a session and send a friend request. Once they accept, you can book sessions with each other directly, no matching needed.
A squad is you and up to four friends, invited in the app. Battles reach squads your friends are in: seven days, and a finished session adds a point when a member reaches their goal or serves the full booked time. Two a day each, so nobody can grind it.
Squads have scores and wins. Members are never ranked against each other, and losing a battle never takes anything away.
Also in the app
Everything below is in the app today, and none of it is ranked against anyone.
Turn it on once in Settings and every session saves to Apple Health on its own. Indoor sessions read your walking distance to sharpen the step count.
XP for showing up, levels up to 100, a twelve-week minutes chart, personal records and medals for milestones like your first 5K. Nothing here compares you to another person.
The whole app is in English and Spanish, and you are only ever matched with someone who shares a language with you.
The promise
Not a promise buried in settings. The app never has your location to share: GPS measures your distance on your iPhone and your location stays right there. MovePact sends how far you went, never where. Your route map is drawn on your phone for your eyes only; if you share a picture of a session, it carries the shape of your route, not your streets. Your partner gets a handle, your avatar or the photo you chose to add, and the messages, photos and voice notes you choose to send.
Safety with a stranger
MovePact pairs adults, and the photos and voice notes between partners are private. That is why the app is 18 and over, confirmed at sign-up.
Safety controls stay one tap away during a session. Block someone and the two of you are never paired again. Reported notes can be kept as evidence for review.
Common questions
Yes. MovePact is an accountability app for walking and running: you set a time, a real person commits to the same start, and skipping means standing someone up. That is the push that gets you out the door.
Pick walk or run, how long, and a start time. MovePact matches you with a compatible partner for that exact slot, considering intensity, partner style and shared language. You can also invite a friend, or move with a squadmate.
No. GPS measures your distance on your iPhone, and your coordinates stay there. Your phone can keep your route so you can see it on a map after you finish, and that map is yours alone: nobody else sees it, including us. Your partner sees how far you went, never where. If you share a picture of a session, it shows the shape of your route, not streets.
No. Voice notes are short, private and optional, and there is no open microphone. Nothing is captured between notes, and audio is deleted within 24 hours.
Yes. Indoor sessions count your steps on your iPhone, so a treadmill walk or run still measures distance and still counts.
You can start the session solo, any time after booking. It still counts, your progress still grows, and the next one can be paired again.
Yes. The whole app is in English and Spanish, and you are only matched with someone who shares a language with you.
MovePact is free, and during our launch period there is no session limit at all. From December 12, 2026 the free plan includes two sessions in any seven days. MovePact Plus removes that limit.
MovePact is on the App Store now, free for iPhone. Download it here.
